THIS is the last call for clergy cricketers. Several dioceses have responded enthusiastically to last week’s proposal for a six-a-side tournament to take place in early July, with a final in early September (News, 14 May).
Dates and venues are to be confirmed. At this point, all we’re interested in is hearing from dioceses that want to put up a team.
These are the dioceses that we have not heard from at the time of writing: Bath & Wells, Birmingham, Chelmsford, Derby, Gloucester, Newcastle, Oxford, Peterborough, Portsmouth, Sodor & Man, Southwell & Nottingham, Worcester, York. In past years, we have also had entries from Welsh and Scottish dioceses.
Please read the details in last week’s issue and available online. The online version has contact details for the dioceses that have signed up. We need to hear by Monday 24 May, when we’ll draw up regional tournaments and fix venues.
